I can't see my contacts in a new e-mail message

Have just moved Outlook files form a PC to a notebook. Everything works
except when I write a new mail it doesn't find my contacts. When I click on
To: i get an error message and then the Select Names dialogue. From the Show
Name from the: drop down I get a list in which there are 2 "Contacts"
selectin the first shows nothing selecting the second shows all my contacts.
Any help in fixing this is greatly appreciated.

You have to enable your Contacts folder as an address book.

You've corrupted your mail profile with the method you used to move your
files to the laptop. You may be lucky if the damage is not severe. Remove
the Outlook Address Book service from your mail profile (just how is
version-specific and you decided not to include your version in your post),
stop and restart Outlook, and readd the service.
