I can't use "Save As" with Word or Excel

I am running Office 2003 with XP Professional. Whenever I try to do a "Save
As" with Word or Excel the program locks up and I lose my data. How can I
fix this?

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.
