I changed lan card and was asked to reactivate office and windows

You have the threshhold for reactivating Microsoft products set too low. I
needed to replace my LAN card and both Windows XP and Microsoft Office
required reactivation. Not only that, but windows seemed to reset itself to
its default settings and dates on items that I have personal settings for.
Please forward this to the Windows XP team also.

Thank You

Hi,

You have the default settings because your user profile has changed to a new
one after you re-activated Windows.

You could restore your personal settings;

Right click on start--explore--local disk---documents and settings. You will
see all the profiles (user's name folder) there.Try to copy information from
the old profile to the new one. This is only going to work if you have a
copy from old profile.
