I created the database on my desktop and now when I move it....

I have created and split a database on my desktop (stupid I know), and now I
am trying to move it on to a shared drive. Well, the links get broke and I do
not know where to go to change the file location so that this does not
happen. I am a first time user and this is my last resort. Please help!!! I
tried to cut and paste and it still looks for the file on my desktop. If it
is not there it tells me I do not have the permissions...etc.

Depending on what version of access you have, look under Tools/Add ins /
Linked table manager, you can change the loction there. Or, just delete and
re-link the tables.

Actually, this is NOT stupid. I do it that way all the time. All you
really need to do is learn how to use the Linked Table Manager. Most Access
reference books for beginners will have a section on it. In Access 2000 and
up, look under Tools > Database Utilities > Linked Table Manager. Select
the tables you want to relink (if the tables are also still in their
original locations, check "Always Prompt for New Location"). Click OK, then
browse to the new file location.

That's it. Good luck.
