System Label: Inspiron 500m
Problem: Keyboard/Mouse
Operating System: Windows XP
Problem Description: I use Gaelic as default language on
my word documents. Some letters in this language have a
colan like e,u,a. But nhen I try to put a colan on the
letter i, it doesn't work. Is this an office problem or
a hardware problem?
Trouble Shooting Steps: I have tried changing the defult
language to English Ireland and I encounter the same
problem

First of all, am I right in thinking that the character
you are trying to produce is what might otherwise be
called "i acute" (í)?

How are you trying to type this character? What keyboard
layout are you using?
Assuming í is the intention, both Irish and Gaelic
layouts should produce í if you type AltGr+i. The gaelic
layout also has ' as a dead key, so ' then i should also
produce í. Additionally in Word this can be typed as
Ctrl+' then i.
