I followed the directions for password protection, but...

Hi all,

I'll be brief. I followed the directions for password protection, but it
didn't work. The password-protected page just loaded, instead of the logon
page. The logon page just shows the code whenever I preview it in my
browser. How can I fix this so that it works? I need it, to secure certain
areas of my site, for they are for members only.

Thanks,
Nathan Pinno

Did you close your web and clear your browser history and temporary internet files and
then try it??

I was previewing it in my browser, so that I could be sure that it was
working. Didn't want to post it, then see people get around it. Didn't seem
to work, any other way of password protecting areas of my site safely?

As Ron pointed out depends on your server OS
He gave you the way to do it on a Windows Server
You never responded on the OS or what you did
