I get Intermittent connection between Outlook 2003 and Exchange Se

I have a small network of 5 nodes. All PC's are running XP Pro 64 bit
edition and Office 2003. On the back end, I have Small Business Server 2003
Premium edition and am running Exchange Server 2003. All the outlooks show
connected to the exchange server, but it will only send/recieve about 2 or 3
times out of ten. The rest of the time I get the error message that says
Outlook can not connect to Exchange Server, outlook must be online or
connected to exchange server. I'm running ISA 2004 server on the Server, but
since the clients have 64 bit xp pro, I have no ISA client software for the
desktops. I have set the first machine to connect via http using the proxy
server and have been a tiny bit more successful than the other machines, but
it's still not working properly. Is there an issue between office 2003 and
xp pro 64 bit edition? If there is, can the 64 bit be rolled back without a
total wipe of the hard drives?
