I have Office 97 -- rather just Word 97 now (which I just managed to dump by
deleting registry keys, etc.). As you read in my previous posts, I cannot
print, save as or change page setup without receiving the following error:
"There is insufficient memory or disk space. Close extra windows and save
your work."
Or a similar error when I save as: "There is insuffient memory or disk
space. Would you like Word to save your work as Rescued Document?" or
something to that effect.
Yes, I HAVE READ THE web site that keeps getting passed around:
http://word.mvps.org, but it is to no avail. I have tried EVERYTHING that
site suggests and still no help. I have attempted to uninstall Office 97
even though it requires the setup disk I don't have (which I finally
succeeded in by deleting registry keys and borrowing a friend's CD). After I
reinstalled my legit copy of Office 97 (Small Business), I still get the
same error. I don't understand why. My computer is not hooked into the
internet (my laptop) so there's very little chance for viruses. I have
plenty of resources available -- my system information tells me that 87% of
my resources are available. The hard drive is about 5 gb and only 1.2gb are
used. 90mb RAM and 87% free.
What do I do? Is there anything I CAN do?
Format C: is looking better every day, but I'm not sure that will solve the
problem after I do it... Perhaps Format C: and then going back with
Microsoft Works instead of Word? Or, an alternative office suite?
Please reply if you have some fresh ideas besides the http://word.mvps.org
site -- which is a very good site in it's own right, but it's not helping
me.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Sheila C.
