I have a problem opening my saved MS word files (* .doc)

whenever I try to open any saved document on my pc, I get the messege " the
file * .doc " is not found, but when I open it through the word pad it opens
easily, so what is the problem with my MS Word and what can I do. please help
me asap thanks a lot

If you're using Symantec/Norton AntiVirus, try disabling the
Office Plugin that comes with it. See
