I have a problem with mail merge fields in letters

I have entered the address field correctly for a letter, when I enter a
greeting line it automatically changes the first line (mail title) of the
address to the same text. I am choosing different field names when matching
fields in address block and greeting line - Mail title and home title.

Don't bother with the addressblock or field matching. Just insert the
mergefields that you want to use in the configuration that you want them.
