i have an smtp error 0x00ccc79 and now can't send emails out

I have just set up Outlook 2000 and managed to send and receive memails for a
day. I can now only send emails and a message comes up SMTP server error
with my email IP address and the error code 0x800ccc79.

Can anyone suggest how to fix it?
