I have lost all of my mail, where did it go and why? How
can I retrieve it?

Check your computer for .pst files.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, vanished e-mail

Can't help you with so little info. Version of Outlook? Mail account type?
What exactly happened? What happened just *before* this happened?

Don't mean to threadjack but I had exactly the same thing
happen to me, which I posted earlier with no response.
I'd like to post my info - perhaps a similar
problem/cause/fix...? Here is my info & original post
earlier:
3 or 4 days ago while simply working, my computer
suddenly turned off and rebooted. Could hear it after
that working away doing something so I feared virus.
Running XP. Later tried to access my Outlook 2000 email
with no success. All pst gone & Outlook no longer
useable. Got message saying Unknown error 0x9CD40111,
problem with files in C:\Documents and
Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst. Ran virus software
with nothing showing up. Bit the bullet and tried taking
Outlook off and reinstalling but no success.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Okay, after following some of the advice, did a search
and found the files but still cannot open. Looked at the
Readme for these files and saw the following message:
Microsoft (R) Inbox Repair Tool
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp 1995-1996. All rights
reserved.

**Beginning NDB recovery

**Attempting to open database

**Attempting to validate header

!!bSentinel is invalid 00 (should be 80)

**Attempting to validate AMap

**Attempting to validate BBT
Anybody recognize what this means and if so, what do I do?

Thanks again.
