I have trouble downloading e-mail in Outlook while running Norton

I am currently running the 2005 Norton Internet Security version. Since
several weeks I am unable to download e-mail messages in Outlook without
disabling the security feature. Even with following all suggested help links
nothing worked.

You may consider contacting Symantec (makers of NIS2005) support and see
what they can do for you since you have isolated it to a well known issue.
They might have a product update that will allow you to continue using the
antivirus/antispam integration in Outlook. :)

I had the exact same problem and it took me three days to fix it! I also use
Outlook 2003 and Norton Internet Security 2005. I tried almost every
recommendation from both Microsoft and Symantec and here's what finally
worked for me:

Close Outlook
Open Norton Internet Security
Click on "Personal Firewall"
Click on "Turn Off"
Click on "Configure"
Click on "Programs" tab
Scroll down and highlight "Microsoft Outlook"
Click on "Remove"
Click on "Add"
Find and highlight Outlook.exe file. (Mine was located at c:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office11)

Click "OK"
Click "Turn On"
Close Norton Internet Security
Open Outlook

Voila!! Mine works now!!!
