I installed Norton's anti-virus - and now can not open any excel/.

I removed Norton Anti-Virus and still none of my existing office files opens.
The message says that virus scan does not let it open.

You should direct these questions to Symantec. However, I'm
sure that the Norton product has some Option settings that
you could adjust.

Just to add,
You may have to use a symantec (nav) removal tool to completely uninstall
nav. You can find it on their site for your version:
