I just got a new laptop

Hello,
I just got a new latop and I am going to trash my old
one. The new one came pre=loaded with a trail version of
office 2004. I want to upgrade to office 2004, but I
should only have to pay upgrade price correct? Should I
try to install office 2003 on the new computer and
upgrade from there? What will that do to my e-mail in the
2004 trail version. Thanks for any help anyone can give
me.

Hint: Apples have a translucent cover.
