I just want ONE inbox

P

Previously, I had Office 2007 running on my old computer. My MSN email would
come to the regular INBOX, via Hotmail POP3 account. I got a new machine
with Vista 64. Loaded Office 2007 on the new machine. During setup Outlook
asked me for my email address, then automatically set up my account as http.
There is a McAffee anti-spam sub-folder firmly attached to the INBOX.

OK. Now all I needed was to get my calendar, contacts, etc. off the old
machine. Tried export and import via jumpdrive with no success. Eventually
got all my data in one .pst file using archiving. Somehow during this
process, I ended up with an extra inbox at the bottom of all my folders! My
http emails come to that inbox and don't get scanned for spam.

I would like to just have one inbox. How do I get my MSN -http emails to
end up in my original INBOX?

I need to add: I've been searching help, and keep coming back to something
about needing to set up a new profile. First I'm supposed to open Control
Panel. If I open the control panel in Classic view, I'm supposed to see an
icon that says "Mail." It's not there.

In 64 bit Vista, enable 32 bit .cpl in Control Panel to see the mail icon.

Milly: Thank you very much. I will do that. One question: How do you do
it? What do you click on or open to change that enable 32 bit .cpl in the
Control Panel? One step at a time please. THANK YOU.

'Course, then I'll need to know what to do to get Outlook down to ONE INBOX,
like I had on my old machine.

The mcafee filter only works on pop3 accounts - with outlook's junk filter
on high, you really don't need mcafee.

Do you use the hotmail calendar? If so, get the outlook connector. Make a
new profile and start fresh. Get the connector from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...b1-df0a-46e1-aa93-7d4870871ecf&displaylang=en

Otherwise, the http mailbox can't be set as default. How was it configured
on your old machine? As http or pop3?

Configure your Hotmail account as a POP account using the same settings you
used on the old PC. If you did it there, you can do it on the new one.

Diane: Thank you! I am sure I have tried setting up a POP3 account before,
and I am sure that it worked, but I still had multiiple inboxes. THIS TIME
it worked! Or so it seems... I believe that now I've got things working
like on my old machine. I send and receive in Outlook, and my email comes to
the "main" mailbox, and is removed from the server. Ah.. Thank you!!
