I keep losing some email addresses in Outlook. Why?

Why do I lose email addresses that I know I've put into Contacts? It is
disconcerting when I have to do an additional lookup and worse when I don't
have the address.

One way is to delete an entry you see in the Address Book interface. This
will erase the corresponding mail address in the Contacts record for that
entry.
