I lost all of my emails when I hit reset my default settings.Help

I was unable to use my Outlook calender. It was malfunctioning. I rang
Microsoft Tech support but we weren't able to resolve it. Without thinking I
was just looking through the options on the Outlook tool bar and saw "Restore
My Default settings"
Next thing I'm looking at Welcome to Outlook Set-Up wizard. In a cold sweat
I went through only to find a blank in-box.
Can my lost emails be restored.I use a pop-3 . I cant find any reference to
outlook files and do not know where to look anyway? HELP!!
I use XP pro with office 2003
Thanks

Unless I'm mistaken, the contents of each Outlook mailbox is stored in a file
with the .MBX extension (maybe verify this using a Google search?).

So if you use your Windows search feature to track down all files with the
..MBX extension (search on "*.mbx") you should see all mailbox files that
exist on your computer. Then I think it would just be a matter of
double-clicking each one, which should cause Outlook to open it. If that
doesn't work, you can try opening them with Notepad or Wordpad just to make
sure they contain the e-mails you are looking for.

At least, that's how I would start trying to resolve this.

Very mistaken! Outlook EXPRESS uses one dbx file per mail folder, OUTLOOK
uses just one pst file for the whole lot....

In Outlook do File-Open-Outlook Data File. You may well find another pst
file in the default location with all your data in it. Resetting Settings
should NOT have deleted any data. I suspect that what you have done is to
create a new mail profile...

No, thats not correct, Outlook Express uses dbx extensions, Outlook, a
completely different app, uses a *.pst file, which is usually a hidden file
