You're a bit chaotic here... Are we talking Office or Windows serial
number? Did you actually receive that mail or did you never receive it?
Do you have the original CD-case and documentation for Office? Where
did you buy it? Usually the serial is on the CD-case or documentation
somewhere.

If you have a legal copy of Windows/Office you have a right to use it,
zo you dont need to buy a new key. If its Office, that key on your PC
is useless because that will be the Windows Key (and this key will
normally only work with the WinXP you got with the PC).

You have not tried everything, you have not tried to contact Microsoft
and explain the situation. I'm not entirely sure but I think they can
verify if you indeed have a legal copy and help you with a serial (or a
new version).

Learn a lesson from this and be VERY carefull with serials and
passwords, because the usual response from any PC administrator or
helpdesk will be: "Sorry, if you don't have the password, I can't help
you." It's your own responsibility to not lose them.

Your new PC came with either,
(1) a *trial* version of Office, for which you would have had to pay extra
to convert to a full version or
(2) was supplied with a fully functioning version of Office included in the
price - check specs of the order.
If (2) contact your supplier of the PC.

PS This ng is for MS Access, the db app
