It's too late for that. Microsoft no longer will supply retail users with
a new product key for Office 97.

had to
re-install all of their programs. They are using Windows ME operating
system.
They have their original Office 97 CD's, but not the media covers with
the
installation code. How can we obtain a replacement install code without
upgrading or replacing the original CD's?

Hi

If your system still running you can use special software to recover your
Windows and Office key. Most of them support some versions of Windows and
some other Microsoft products. Also there is a products like "Recover Keys" (
http://recover-keys.com/ ) that support all Windows and Office versions and
300+ of other major software packages.
