Wh6en I type on my laptop numbers indiscriminately come up in my words like
th6e in th6e words of th6is sentence.

It sounds like either you're inadvertently pressing a number shift key, or
your keyboard is going bad. Do you have an external USB keyboard you can
connect to the laptop? If so, does the problem occur when using it, as well?
(I'm assuming that the problem hasn't always occurred, and has recently
begun, and that you've rebooted since the problem began.)
