I Need a list of tools, for Software Configuration Management tool

Please help I Need a list of tools, for Software Configuration Management
tools for change control of software changes, etc.
is any one have any idiea what Tool that work best for Software
Configuration Management then We can use for our Dept. Please help

We are using Microsoft Visual SourceSafe which comes with Visual
Studio. It's not great but good enough we don't feel the urge to
invest in PVCS or others.
