..wiz files are wizard files of some sort. Normally associated with Office.

..cnt files are help contents files. Search your hard drive for *.cnt to
find some.

..pot files are powerpoint templates. Open PowerPoint, create a template,
save it as a template.

..fon files are old-style font files. They are found in c:\windows\fonts
normally.

Why do you need these types of files? Or do you have these files on your
hard drive and are wondering what you can do with them? They support the
operation of your programs.

..wiz files are necessary for the operation of some programs that use
wizards.
..cnt files are necessary to use Help in some programs.
..pot files are necessary for PowerPoint to operate correctly.
..fon files are necessary for the command prompt to operate correctly.
