I need help with several mysteries

I just bought a new computer which came with XP Home. I installed
Outlook 2000, which I had been using on my old computer and
transferred the .pst files. A friend set up a LAN for us, and I
believe he downloaded update files from MS.

Now, sometimes when I try to send mail, I get a message which says
"The account specified for one or more messages in the outbox has been
removed. Would you like to use your default account to send these
messages?" There has never been but one ISP account on this computer
and the ones that were there ages ago on the old computer had long
since been removed. What does this message mean?

Another problem is that at some point since I transferred my Contact
folder to this computer, all the birthdays and anniversaries were now
showing as one day earlier than they actually are. Does anyone have
any idea how this could happen?

Another problem, which started before the computer change, is that
when I use the Reply button to respond to a post from one sender, the
post either never gets there or arrives hours or days later. I don't
know if this is an Outlook problem or an ISP problem. Someone else
told me that when they use the Reply button to reply to my posts, they
bounce. In both cases, typing in the address enables the posts to go
through without a problem.

Another mystery arose yesterday when someone requested I send them a
picture. I tried several times to send a post with the picture
attached; the post arrived but without the picture. Finally, I
resorted to inserting the picture in the body of the message and it
got through that way. Again, I don't know if this is an Outlook
glitch or an ISP glitch. I've attached pictures many times before
without incident.

If anyone has any clues about what's causing, or how to solve, any of
these mysteries, I will be grateful.

TIA,

Emily
