I need to save a contact in SMTP format not exchange format.

On my corporate system, when I save a contact it is saved in exchange format.
It looks like Doe,John rather than (e-mail address removed). This causes a
problem when I sync to my PDA. The address gets stored as Doe, John. I'd
rather have the smtp type addrss be displayed on the PDA. Any Ideas?
