I only need to draw 2D rooms. Is std edition sufficient?

I think Pro edition is overkill. Will I be able to draw board rooms,
conference rooms and classrooms with associated furniture and electrical with
std edition of Visio?

office layout comes with standard, the rest of it comes in professional

Yes if you can find the stencils (they don't come with std), try a search and
see what you can find. Or you can create your own simple parts and put them
in your own stencil.
