I pull up distribution list but can't open tools to mail merge

I am doing a mail merge I pulled up my distribution list and select the
people I wanted I then go to my tool menu and there is no maile merge. I can
go to the tool menu bar on the mail email and follow the step to mail merge
however I went I click ok it says I don't have a distribtion list

What program are you working from Outlook, Word or something else? It would
help to know the version, as well.

In Outlook 2003, you can select contacts and choose Tools - Mail Merge. Are
you saying that Mail Merge is missing from Outlook's Tools menu?

In Word 2003, you would choose Tools - Letters and Mailings - Mail Merge to
start the process.

You can't use a distribution list in Outlook for mail merge.
