I received a "access denied" error while defragmenting the databas

I currently use Outlook 2003 with business contact manager and have been for
about two years. When I go into business tools and click on manage database
then click "check for errors" then start I get a message that says this
process will defragment your database and check for errors. About 30 seconds
into this I get an access denied error under the details section

The following is displayed right before the error message:

Checking database...
Re-Indexing table: ActivitiesAdditionalPropertyBag

This is where the database hangs and I get the access denied error. I have
never been able to successfully completely defragment database and I wonder
if somebody has an answer for this particular problem?
