i retrieved lost files done it was in some kind of hyroglyphics

i retrieved lost files and when i tried to restore them they where like
hyroglyphics and don't know how to get them back to readable files , i posted
this question yesterday and got a reply but couldn't open the link they sent

Have you tried changing the file name extension to .xls
