I thought the smallest units were Minutes?

We have deployed Project Server and use Project Professional throughout the
enterprise.

A single instance of Project Professional shows seconds when totalling
resource assignments values in Resource Usage View. The task levels show
hours: its just the totals for the resource that look like 678,000s.

We tried to uninstall and reinstall the application. But the behaviour
remains.

HOW DO WE TURN IT OFF?

Thanks,

Hi owp^3,

In the project database:
a.. Duration values are saved as minutes * 10. Eight hours would be saved as
4800 (that is, 8*60*10).
a.. Work values are saved as minutes * 1000. Eight hours would be saved as
480000 (that is, 8*60*1000).

Perhaps this is your issue?

I usually call the duration unit a "tick," equal to 6 seconds. A wonder
what you could call that work unit, perhaps a "milliminute?" <LOL>

Perhaps we should start working on converting everyone over to use the
"FFF" - Furlong, Firken, Fortnight - system as the basic units of measure.
<grin>

....But we digress...
....smile...

My user has many resources on his projects.
These resources are allocated to several other projects.
We are trying to get our plan managers to level their resources at 45 hrs a
week.
He is having a hard time accomplishing this objective in Resource Usage view
because he can't easily how far off the mark he is when the summary values
look like 685,000s.

I need to be able to fix his instance. He sees this behaviour on every
project he opens. Those same projects appear as expected for everyone else's
instance.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions...

Thanks,

Tools, Options, Schedule, Work is shown as... put hours or days, click Set
as Default, OK
Tools, Macro, Macros, Format_Duration, run

And sorry, if it's Project he's using he's NOT seeing seconds. That doesn't
exist in Project.

In Tools Options Schedule check the units he has for duration and work.

Yes, I know how to change the default units to enter time.

His units are set at Hours.

In resource usage view the work for individual tasks and other enterprise
projects shows in hours i.e. "4.5h".

HOWEVER, the totals for each resource appear to be very large numbers i.e.
"685,000s".

I'm guessing that the "s" stands for seconds. I don't know.
I do know that whatever he is seeing is not in minutes hours days or weeks.

I want to be able to turn it back to hours. We have tried teh method you
propose and since it is already set to hours that doesn't fix the problem.
We have uninstalled and reinstalled the application and the behaviour
persists.

I'd be happy to send a screenshot to anyone who is interested. Email me
directly:

Thanks in advance for any assistance that you can give me.
