I deleted a sheet in Excel, but it deleted the name instead. Now I can't rename or delete the sheet.

Perhaps you just high-lighted the name and entered a space then <ENTER> Excel won't let you enter nothing for a sheetname so assume a space. If that's the case, you should be able to see a gap where the name should be. Double-click on that gap and type in a name. Gord Dibben Excel MVP
