I triy again ! Help for Multivalue code in Olap wiew

Hello,
I tried to use Multi-Value resource Entreprise Outline code in OLAP Cube to
follow resources skillness
I can see the label and splip it in olap view. I obtain 'No Value".
However, when i clic on the arrow in the label field I can see the items of
this outline code.
I also tried in a page label : same result.
I understand it's difficult for him because the data can be grouped and
added in several item.
But why this outlline code is it displayed in the label window if we cannot
do anything with it ??

Solution : enter the different skills in different outline codes : skill 1,
Skill 2, ... ?

Jean-Luc:

The multi-value outline codes are fairly useless in the OLAP cube because
you can't derive work or cost from these at anything other than the node
level containing the multiple values. In other words, there's no way to
indicate in the assignment process that the resource is selected for this
specific value, so these values really come into play only when you're
selecting resources. What do you hope to see through analysis?

Yes, I undersand that.
However it would have been interesting to see if you have remaining
avalaibility in a skillness, even if this skilness is the skillness 2 our
skilness3 of your resources.

Chances are, if you can write the formula, you might get the analyzer to do
this, but my point is that the formula is uncertain. Availability exists by
resource, not by skill set. Any resource who is "available" for 8 hours is
theoretically available for all of those 8 hours to deliver any of their
skill sets. Where do you assign availability if the resource can program in
five languages? Do you multiply each skill by eight and project "potential
availability in a skill set?"

Thats'it i would be interesed by this information for an availability of 8
hours for one language 1, OR 8 hours for Langage 2, and so on.

Gary - I've been following this thread with interest, though I have a
different purpose for the MV Skills outline code.

I would like to use the Skills MV outline code to filter the pivot
table/chart data. For example, to view the work assigned to all resources
with "software" in their skill codes. I understand that the actual skill code
isn't tied to the work, but shouldn't I be able to use it to filter the
resources?

Any further insight you can provide is definitely appreciated!
