I want guidelines to show on labels, but not all Word docs.

I adjusted the document settings somehow a while back for labels, and can't
get it switched back, so I don't have guide lines all the time in a Word
document.

The "guide lines" in a label document are the boundaries of table
cells, which you turn on or off with the Show (or Hide) Gridlines
command on the Table menu.

If you want to show or hide the boundaries of ordinary text, go to
Tools > Options > View and check (or uncheck) the "Text boundaries"
option (in Word 2007, "Show text boundaries" in Word Options >
Advanced > Show document content).
