i want to access one outlook .pst from both my desktop and notebo.

i have a workgroup at my home office. I am starting to like outlook as my
email client.
however, i like to work both on my desktop, and at other times on my
notebook. so i have set up my outlook.pst file on a shared drive. the
problem is that if i access it from the notebook, then it downloads the same
messages again from the servers.

is there a way i can configure the desktop to just read the *.pst file,
without connecting to the mail servers, and double downloading all the
emails?

or any other suggestion so that i can use both PC's with one account. I
have office 2003 on both, along with xp pro.
