I want to add spaces after a right tab

Don't ask me why, but one of our users wants to add spaces after a right tab,
so that the text comes on about six spaces, but when she does text doesn't
move the spaces appear to go into the righthand margin. I know the easiest
way would be to drag the right tab in a bit, but being an old(er) wordperfect
user she could do this by hitting ALT+F7 and then putting the spaces after
the text.
OLD WORD PERFECT USERS I HATE THEM!!!
Thanks
Nigel

Sorry, but Word offers only two choices about spaces: piling them up in the
right margin or (if the Compatibility Options are so set), wrapping them to
the next line. Your user could use nonbreaking spaces (Ctrl+Shift+Space) to
achieve the desired effect, but, as you have pointed out, this is really
silly and imprecise.
