I want to insert two 10 sec sound clips of my music onto my web page. I
have already converted the two tracks to WAV But how do I create the link on
my page so that people can click onto either of the tracks and hear the short
sound clip? It will allow me to play the track as background music to my
page, but this is not what I want. I just want on my music page a link to
the track and for a short clip of 10 seconds to be played.

Dear David thank you for your reply, my server is onetel and they say they
only support Dreamweaver, Cute and WS as web page designs. I have yet to
find out about FTP so that I can upload the WAV file and find out the URL. I
presume you are meaning that I upload the wav file. The thing is when I
manage to do all that if I link it to the URL won't it play the whole track,
how do I limit it to 10secs each track. as I have only 10mb of free space.
Your help with all of this and FTP solutions would be most helpful so that I
can eventually upload my publisher web page.

Kindest Regards
Skylark

Upload the file to your server.
Note the URL of said file.
In the hyperlink dialog link to that URL.

either they or you is confused. Dreamweaver is a web site design tool, Cute
and WS are ftp clients. So your sentence makes no sense. And I doubt they
are that limited in either category.

ftp is just a protocol for transfering files. if you want to know more about
it that's easy - go to www.google.com and type in "what is ftp".

in your case yes, but this applies to any file that is not a publisher file
that you want to link to.

The thing is when I

assuming the whole file is downloaded and the visitor doesn't stop the play,
yes.
how do I limit it to 10secs each track.

by using a 10 second track of course.

as I have only 10mb of free space.

that could be interesting. better check the size of your web site, Publisher
could eat that up just getting warmed up. and of course use mp3 sound files
instead of wav.

everything you could need should be at http://www.publishermvps.com so
bookmark it and review. at a minimum read the FAQ -

the uploading directions for the web site are at
