Carlita Siew

i wanted to modify the data in my access database but i received an error
message stating that i had to open database exclusively.
What does it mean? what should i do to open my database exclusively?
Thank you.

Maybe it is because Access is used more than one users at the same time, so
users need exclusive access to modify data.
To open the access database exclusively, open the Microsoft Access; select
Open under the File menu or select the Open button, then select he database
that you want to open exculsively, and click on the arrow of the open button.
Then there will be 4 options, such as open, open read-only, open exclusive,
and open exclusive read-only.
Select open exclusive and then your access database will open.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think you should need to open
your database for exclusive access if you only want to modify data. You
might need that if you want to modify the design. Are you sure you only
want to modify data? What exactly did you do that brought up this
message?
