I want to save an e-mail without creating a folder

Every time I use the "Save As" button in Outlook 2007 to save an e-mail to my
hard drive the action saves the e-mail and also creates a folder which I
don't want. If I delete the folder it deletes the e-mail.

I'm not aware of any way to prevent it - other than saving as MHT instead.
To delete the folder, rename the HTML - this breaks the link to the folder.

You have tried changing the "File type" from HTML to one of the other
options?
