For the first one, the folks in the Windows XP newsgroups could help you
better, this group is for the Access Database program. However, you have to
buy the upgrade version of Windows XP Pro and install it. I have seen
problems if the service pack level of the Home install was higher than the
service pack level of the Pro CD, but the problems went away once the
service pack was applied to the new Pro install. Unfortunately though, there
is no special, lower price, upgrade disk from Home to Pro, just the normal
Pro upgrade disk that will upgrade you from previous versions of Windows
also.
For the upgrade from Works to Excel, it will depend on if you have just
Works or the Works suite. The Works Suite comes with Word and may be
eligible for getting the upgrade version of Office (read the box to make
sure). For more information on converting your Works spreadsheets to Excel,
ask in the Excel newsgroups.
