I want to use 'Today' (today's date) as an argument in a filter

Can I use a field such as Today in an argument (like Excel)?

Not directly. However you can record a macro of you creating a filter then
edit the recorded macro to use today's date instead of the date you typed in
whilst recording the macro.

You can customize one of the spare "Date" fields.

Enter the formula DateValue(Now()) and the field will always show today's
date.

Use dialoge box in filter "Text"? (the question mark is the enabler of
interactive dialoge box) and type in. Not quite right but does the job
