iCan't open links OutlookExpress6.o -- get blank Internet page

When I click on any link in an e-mail message (Outlook Express 6.0) it brings
me to a blank Microsoft Internet Explorer page. I can't open any link from an
e-mail (though I can open attachments.) I use AVG for security -- not Norton.
WHat can I do to be able to click on links in an e-mail and open them?

Note that this is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.
