Icon looks bad when diabling Icon in word

I have add a toolbar in word, when I diable the Icon, the Icon looks bad
only look its mask of icon, but word's Icon can look its original
Icon(Picture)when it is disalbed.
why?
is there a way to work out this problem?

Creatre a second bitmap with the disabled version of the icon, and swap it
in when needed.
