Icon shows open envelope in send folder.

If I have the Send folder open the highlighted line always has an open
envelope icon. This happens the instant you open the folder. That e-mail
can not be sent. This does not happen with my wifes account in Outlook
2003, only mine. How do I cange this setting?

You mean the Outbox? Go to the Outbox. Open the item. Go to the Inbox. Now,
send the item.

This behavior may be related to one or more add-ins you have installed.

The e-mail will not be sent as long as it has the open envelope icon in the
Outbox. As an example if I have three e-mails in the Outbox and open that
folder the top one will have an open envelope icon on the left. The other
two will show an un-opened envelope. If I Send/Rec the e-mail with the open
envelope will not be sent.

Repeating, you need to open the item(s), then switch away from the Outbox to
send them. Then don't go back to the Outbox!

Thanks Sue,

However as I said it will not be sent if the envelope is shown as open only
the ones that are unopened will be sent. Even if I switch to another folder
it WILL not send items that have been shown as open envlpoes. Not really a
problem as I know NOT to look in the Outbox or I will create this problem.
It is just a bit frustrating not to know the answer as to why it happens on
my account and not the wife's. Both on same computer with XP-Pro and
Outlook 2003. If you open the wife's Outbox none of the envelopes are shown
open. While with mine any highlighted envelope is shown as open. There is
no time delay on it going from unopened to open once it is highlighted, it
happens as soon as you click on the item. Once shown as open I can not send
any in the state.

Open the items. Switch away from the Outbox folder. Click Send on each open
item. Don't go back to the Outbox.

You should check for installed add-ins; that's the most likely cause of this
behavior.
