Icon Size

We have just switched to Macs, and one thing about Office for Mac is an issue. The icons that appear - for New, Print, Copy, Paste, etc., are very small when viewed on a large screen, and difficult to make out with less than 20-20 vision.

It used to be possible in Office for Windows to choose "large icons" as part of the customizing process. The same option doesn't appear in Office Mac 2008, and there doesn't seem to be any reference to it in the Help files.

Since so many older people are choosing Macs, this would seem to be a valuable option. Does anyone know how to make the icons bigger?

Learn the keyboard shortcuts then you don't have to see them.

Command-P Print
Command-C Copy
Command-V Paste

In Office 2004 only the Main window icons had that option. This is even
missing in Office 2008. Too many young developers with good eyesight. said:

You could set the screen resolution to a smaller size making everything
bigger. See this thread that has suggestions that might help you.

Thanks for the suggestions. I like and use the keyboard shortcuts, but my husband wants to keep doing things in the way he is familiar with. This will give me something to work with!

Using keyboard shortcuts is one of the biggest time savers, but many users
just never use them. I'm not sure what the block is on this feature.

Tip: Start with a few shortcuts at a time to learn. Make a cheat sheet so
the shortcuts are easily seen. After a while, these will be second nature
and you can add a new set.

A third party product that helps is Keycue. The neat thing is it lets you
see your Entourage script shortcuts YOU ADDED in addition to the ones added
by the Entourage application. Works in all Mac applications. ($19.95)
