Icon Warning

A red exclamation point has appeared on the icon for one of our linked
databases. I can't find its meaning, though I'm sure it's dire! Can anyone
'splain?

When opening the folder containing the database using Explorer in icon view,
the icon for rt.mdb displays a red exclamation point.

Hi Malin,

Is the rt.mdb really a shortcut on which someone has applied a custom
icon? Check the file's properties by right-clicking on the icon to see.

Would that it were . . . but, alas, 'tis not.

The red exclamation mark is a new arrival/addition to the icon which
identifies the database file named rt.mdb. Surely it means something
terrible. Red and emphatic seems important.

Hi Mailin,

Something other than MS Access is doing that to the icon. Are you
perhaps using Dreamweaver? If so, see
http://www.olddognewtricks.co.uk/2006/12/index.html?no_prefetch=1

If not, you could try deleting the Thumbs.db file that is in your MDB's
directory, maybe reboot, and see if that cures it.

If none of that helps, are there other programs that you are using that
reference that MDB? If not, you might want to do some thorough checking for
spyware/viruses/etc.

Nope, no Dreamweaver.

Something else? Deamons? Demons?

Deleting thumbs.db? There's a thought.

Virus? Maybe. Spyware? Perhaps> You don't really think a well-respected
product from McAfee would admit something nefarious do you?!

Appreciate the observations.
