icons on toolbar are all shaded, cant do anything

i started a new presentation and changed the designn pattern to "Globe".
After completing a few slide i saved the information and turned the computer
off. I came back after a while and retrieved the presentation, but i was
unable to open or change anything. I deleted the presentation file and now
most of my toolbar icons are shades, i cant create any new files and have
very limited options that available on the toolbar. Any suggestions?

Do you have a trial version of Office 2003 that coincidentally expired today?
Have you activated your Office software? What happens if you start
Powerpoint and click on Help | Activate Product?
