icons under the notes tab

I cannot see any office icons, under the notes tab, after I insert an object
in Office 2007 document in Project 2007. I can see the label of the inserted
object but not the icon.

Hi,

When you insert an object, to see it:

Select Window, Split
Right click anywhere in the lower window pane and select object.

Hi Rod

I can see any other type of object icon exept for Office objects.
Under the Notes tab I click the Insert Object button.
I check the Display As Icon checkbox.
I can now see the icon of the object except for Office icons
Now I click the Change Icon button.
I select the Current option and click\select the desired Word icon.
The Word icon now displays below the Browse button.
I click the OK button and now I'm back into the Insert Object window.
All I see is the label and not the icon
I click the OK button on the Insert Object box. Again all I see the label
and not the icon.

I've tried uninstalling Office 2007 and installing Office 2003 only to have
the same issue.

I'm running project 2007 (12.0.6211.1000) SP1 MSO (12.0.6320.5000)

I have all of the latest Office and Window updates installed.

Thanks

OK,
Can't help! I can insert an Excel file into Notes as an object.

Personally I prefer to use Hyperlinks to link files. This means they can be
update separately with no "which one is the most up to date?" issues.

I also like to keep notes simple so it's easier to read them for reports.

Hello Dale,

If it's any consolation, I've seen the issue you report since
Project 2003. I can reproduce here repeatedly. Project 2007
Professional SP-1, IU installed. Office 2007 with all applicable
SPs.

The link does work, the icon just shows "Document" or "Worksheet".

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
