Ideas on backing up please

Paul Milner

Hi
I have created an Access database on a website using FP.
is there an easy way of backing up database entries to a
pc. upto now I have to use the publish selected files
only option to download the database from the server.this
has it's drawbacks such as, if you forget to tick the
Remote to local box option the new infomation on the
server is overitten by the local version, losing new
database entries.
Surely there must be a better way to backup.
How do you do it?

Open the live site in FrontPage, and File->Export the database to the
Desktop (or other folder).

The Remote site view is limited in its functionality.

Use File->Open Site and open the remote site. Or:

Click on Remote Site at the bottom. Then click on the link "Open your
remote site in FrontPage".

Then do the File->Export bit.

All you want to do is get a copy onto your local pc of the database that
exists in a web on the server?

Just ftp the database to your local computer. It's easier and faster
than doing it via Frontpage, and it wont hurt a thing so long as you are
just ftp'ing the database.
