IE Script Error- no print in Word2000

S

Sandy McDonald

When I try to print a document in Word2000 I get an Internet Script Error message:
Line: 539
Char: 2
Error: Invalid Argument
Code: 0
URL: res://C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/preview.dlg
This same message appears when trying to print from Outlook Express and Internet Explorer. This error began after downloading Microsoft updates. Thanks, Sandy

Hi Sandy,

If the error occurs in other applications besides Word then it could be caused by a damaged printer driver or it is a Windows issue.

Obtain an updated printer driver and if that doesn't resolve it then try posting in a Windows newsgroup and see if the any of the Windows gurus that hang out there can assist.

I'm having the same problem just trying to print in IE6.0 and OE, but all other apps print correctly. My problem also started after dowloading updates. I've deleted printer (HP930) and reinstalled with no change. Called my DSL provider because I just installed that too, and they sent me out to java.com but could not tell me what to download. I receive the same script error message. Hope to solve this as I'm getting tired of copy/paste to Word to print stuff. Will go out an see if there are any Windows updates. Using 98 Second Edition.
