IE7 combatibility with PWA

G

Greg

Hello all,

I posted this same issue on the day before Thanksgiving, so it may
have been overlooked.

Two users, both using IE7, are unable to create new timesheets. When
on the 'My Timesheets' page, clicking the link labeled 'click to
create' will produce an error on the page. These users are, however,
able to view timesheets that already have been created.

Has anyone experienced this same issue and found a solution?

Thanks,

Greg

Hi Greg,
do you get any error messages in the queue or event log?
What exactly is the error message the user are getting?

Greg,
Did you ever find a solution for this issue? I have a user that is
getting the same error under the same circumstances, but she is using ie6.
Her account in PWA works fine, she can create timesheets from another
computer. I tried rebuilding her profile, and got the same results with the
new profile. Any help is greatly appreciated...

thx.

steve.

Steve,

I was not able to find a permanent solution, but I am quite sure that
the problem is a browser issue. I found a suggestion online, but I
don't recall where. After following the recommendations the problem
went away for about a week, but came back. The users in question just
use a different computer once a week to create their timesheets. I'm
sorry that I can't be more helpful.

Thanks,

Greg

Hello all,

I am having the same issue with one of our users (out of 250) She can log in
to PWA no problem, view previously submitted timesheets, but when she clicks
on 'create timesheet' nothing happens. She uses someone else's machine to
successfully create and submit her timesheet, which would indicate a local
problem. I believe our tech support guys have checked her IE option
settings, and reinstalled IE (version 6) to no avail. We would like to avoid
reimaging the machine just to solve this problem. I'm not aware of any 3rd
party apps being installed, but can't rule it out.

Many thanks, Adrian.

Adrian:

Try re-creating her user profile on the problem machine. Name the old
profile .bak and have her logon to create a new one. Then migrate her my
docs, favorites, etc. A bit of a pain but way better than reimaging.

I have found a solution for this problem (or a very same one that we had)
it appears that all the people that had those problem had office 2003 and
msproject_pro 2007 and than uninstalled the office 2003 and installed office
2007 this caused some DLL to be corrupted and the soultion was to do a
repair of the office installation which reinstalled the missing DLLs

hope it helps you too.
